A total of $88 million will now be available to support our SEPs to go for training. Leveraging the Government’s SEP Training Support Scheme and co-funded by the Government and NTUC, SEPs can now earn as they train. This total fund comprises the Government’s $84 million SEP Training Support Scheme and a $4 million top up from the NTUC Training Fund.
From 1 May 2020, the SEP Support Scheme will provide SEPs with a training allowance of $10/hr, up from the previous $7.50/hr when they attend courses under the SkillsFuture series, as well as sector-specific training programmes.
With NTUC’s top-up from the NTUC Training Fund, SEPs who are existing union members get an additional top-up of $1/hr when they go for training. New union members who sign up after 1 March 2020 will get an additional $0.50/hr top-up.
Please take note that the deadline to submit application for the Letter of Eligibility is 31 March 2021. NTUC’s e2i will no longer be accepting any submissions for Letter of Eligibility. Claims for training allowance will only be applicable for approved courses with start dates commencing before/on 31 March 2021. Please note that all claim submissions are now closed as of 31 May 2021. For any claims-related enquiries, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org
