NTUC Assistant Secretary-General Yeo Wan Ling asked for more support to help companies roll out flexible work arrangements and leave enhancements.
At the Manpower Ministry’s (MOM) Committee of Supply Debate on 4 March 2024, NTUC Assistant Secretary-General Yeo Wan Ling asked the ministry about its plans to enable all companies to implement flexible work arrangements, especially those in manpower-short sectors.
Considering the upcoming Tripartite Guidelines for FWA Requests, she also enquired on MOM’s plans to encourage companies to roll out FWA fairly and handle employers who refuse to assess FWA requests.
To make FWA sustainable, Ms Yeo asked the ministry to help companies with job and culture redesign.
To complement FWA, the Labour Member of Parliament also called for more caregiving leave and to extend existing leave coverage to support more family members. She also asked for paid training leave to help women returners transition back to the workforce.
