As a key partner in Singapore’s nation-building efforts, NTUC will co-organise the “NDP Celebrations at the Bay” as an extension of the main National Day Parade (NDP) 2024 celebrations.
This will allow participants at the Promontory @ Marina Bay area to catch the live telecast of the parade and fireworks, while enjoying live stage performances by local artistes and other fringe activities.
More details will be unveiled by NTUC at a later date.
To celebrate Singapore’s 59th birthday, the main NDP 2024 at the Padang promises to be a spectacle to remember. This year’s theme “Together, As One United People” highlights the collective strength of Singaporeans in shaping the nation’s future.
One of the highlights is the inaugural Total Defence 40 (TD40) Dynamic Defence Display (D3), showcasing the Whole-of-Government and the community’s response to threats and disruptions through a coordinated multi-domain warfighting demonstration between the Padang and Marina Bay.
Spectators can immerse themselves in a 360-degree multimedia experience at the Padang, complete with enhanced fireworks.
Another first is the Onward March, where marching contingents will march onto the spectator stand.
Crowd favourites like the Red Lions, State Flag Flypast, Salute to the Nation, Presidential Gun Salute, Mass Performances and Sing-along will also return.
All these will be broadcast live over television and internet platforms.
Aside from the Padang celebrations and the festivities at the Promontory @ Marina Bay on 9 August, there will be five Heartland Celebration sites on 10 August. The Heartland Celebrations are organised with the People’s Association, and will feature live performances, vehicle displays, fireworks and carnivals over the long weekend.
More information on NDP 2024 will be available via the NDP social media accounts, YouTube page , as well as official website.
